HOMER GLEN, ILLINOIS
Newly incorporated in April of 2001, the Village of Homer Glen instantly became Will County's third largest town. Homer Glen is developing from a rural farming community into a vital suburb while preserving its unique rural character. The Village of Homer Glen is dedicated to maintaining and cultivating a balance of family, agriculture, business, environment and cultural diversity for present and future generations. Homer Glen is situated 35 miles southwest of Chicago and surrounded by Lockport on the west, Lemont on the north, Orland Park on the east and New Lenox on the south. It is in close proximity to Interstates 80 and 55 and, in 2007, the I-355 extension will include a Homer Glen exit. Homer Glen is 30 miles from O'Hare Internation Airport and Midway Airport is 25 miles to the northeast. Train service to Chicago is available at two nearby Metra stations. Neighboring Lockport's Historic District and Orland Park's Shopping Malls contribute to the convenience of this location. Quality schools, local forest preserves, historic sites, parks, golf courses, library, theaters, antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants featuring "four star" cuisine as well as family dining add to an enjoyable and fulfilling lifestyle for the residents of Homer Glen.
