LEMONT, ILLINOIS

Settled in 1836, and incorporated in 1873, the Village of Lemont offers the look and feel of the past combined with a progressive eye to the future. The historic Village, with a population of 11,375 residents, is nestled among the bluffs of the Des Plaines River Valley offering scenic views unique in the Chicagoland area. Hilly, tree-lined streets provide neighborhoods with distinctive character and quality of life. Recreational opportunities abound in Lemont with literally thousands of acres of adjacent forest preserves, wildlife areas, golf courses, bicycle trails and local parks. Excellent schools and a public library furnish the educational needs of the community. Public transportation via the Metra Heritage Corridor commuter line links the community with downtown Chicago. Local business development interest has increased in Lemont as the extension of the North-South Tollway (I-355) and the 127th Street interchange moves closer to completion.
