Home sales in Covington Knolls surpasses century mark
Jul 24, 2001 - In the semi-custom, mid-priced, single-family home market place, homebuyers are looking for diversity of floor plans, unique elevations and an opportunity to customize a floor plan to specifically match their lifestyle. These desires were taken into consideration when Gallagher & Henry opened its Covington Knolls community in Lemont and, as a result, the builder has been rewarded by rapid sales.
In fact, more than 100 families have already moved into the community, and the sales team is closing in rapidly on the 150 sales mark. Gallagher & Henry offers its customers 15 different floor plans that range from $247,895 to well over $300,000 and feature 1,850 to 3,000+square feet of living space. The builder also offers a large selection of ranch floor plans for homebuyers to choose from.

These stick-built ranch, multi-level and two-story homes typically feature three or four bedrooms with a master bedroom suite, two-and-one-half baths, formal dining rooms, spacious breakfast rooms, elegant living rooms and family rooms with optional fireplaces.
Gallagher & Henry's homes feature a two or three-car garage, General Electric appliances (oven/range, multi-cycle dishwasher, vented hood fan, garbage disposal), oak trim and doors, volume ceilings, ceramic floor tile, ceramic tiled tubs and insulated casement or double hung wood windows. Some plans come standard with a whirlpool tub, skylights, and 9-foot first floor ceilings.
All floor plans are available with three or more alternative elevations, which are constructed using cedar siding, brick and/or synthetic stucco and aluminum gutters. Windows are usually energy efficient thermopane wood windows clad in vinyl or aluminum. The community also offers an extensive range of builder service programs, including customization and quality assurance.
"Customization allows our home buyers to tailor a floor plan they like to specifically suit their housing needs and lifestyle," said Kanakes. "As a result, they can refine a home's design without incurring the extensive planning time and expense involved in building a completely custom-designed home."
For an additional cost Gallagher & Henry is also willing to install built-in humidifiers, electronic air-cleaners, skylights, central vacuum systems, security systems, masonry fireplaces and central air conditioning.
All designs for homes at Covington Knolls are subject to specific covenants and restrictions to ensure all homes are of the same quality construction and architectural integrity. All restrictions are enforced to maintain each homeowner's investment.
Besides great homes, the new community will offer a great lifestyle because of its Lemont location. Covington Knolls, located in Lemont's excellent grade school and high school district, offers convenient access to Interstates I-55, I-294 and I-355.
